For those that want more grip go with a metric size. M3x18mm is a great option. It's a little thinner and will penetrate deeper into the sole of your boot. These button head screws come in stainless steel and Alloy steel 10.9 rated. The Alloy steel will be the stronger option of the 2 and harder to bend. Once you feel it bottom out stop tightening and visually inspect to make sure the nylon in the nut has engaged with the last couple of threads on the spindle.
